No, seriously. Stop using moisturizers.

Image
"Dermatologists don't want you to use moisturizers!"        Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize! It's one of the simplest truths in basic skincare. It's the reason we drink water before bed or moisturize when it's cold outside. It's a part of our daily routine, but what if that was all a lie? What if you didn't actually need to moisturize in order to have healthy-looking skin? In fact, Dermatologists around the world will tell you to stop using lotion! Surprised? So were we.  First, let's explain how moisturizers actually work.  "Your body doesn't need the extra hydration!" The very purpose of moisturizers is to protect the outermost layer of the skin. It also protects your skin from dirt, dust, and plenty of other particles in the air as a sort of natural barrier.  Some people, however, have dryer skin than others. Grab your moisturizer, and take a look at what the main ingredient is. if it's mainly water, it's classified as a...

The First Step in becoming Vegan is...

The first steps to a  vegan diet is knowing the reason why you want to become a Vegan in the first place. Whether it's because you watched a documentary on the cruelty that comes with your 25 cent wings, for health purposes, or both, it's all a matter of your perspective.  Baby Steps are essential.      It's not an easy task to transition from eating three carnivorous meals on a daily basis to surviving on salads, quinoa, and soy lattes. At the start of Line Spa and Polish, it took us years in order to create our current style of Manicures and Pedicures, the atmosphere in our store, product research, and so much more; notice that we didn't say 'perfect', because we are still improving upon this style. It's the same way with becoming vegan. Try this; Start with a day of the week when it is impossible for you to make an excuse from eatin...

I think we can all agree that there is something wonderful about taking the time to take care for our nails. Whether you take an hour or two and go to a salon near you, or you paint your own nails in the comfort of your own home, there is something about having beautifully manicured nails that makes you feel good. An unbelievable 60% of women have their nails done monthly, but is nail care really important? Is it just a luxury we enjoy from time to time?            Turns out, taking care of your nails can help you determine the health of your body, and is essential to the health of your hands. We use our hands for virtually everything, EVERYDAY! If you don’t show your nails some love, this could cause fungal or bacterial infections in the nail folds (the skin surrounding your nail bed), which could lead to more serious health issues. Your nails act as indicators for maln...

Let us walk you through the basics in our new mindful guide on how to meditate." "It's all going to be okay." A Basic Meditation for Beginners      Did you notice....? Yourself getting caught up in thoug hts be fore  you came back to reading this? We often have little narratives running in our minds that we didn’t choose to put there, like: “Why DOES my boss wan t to meet with me tomorrow?” “I should have gone to the gym yesterday.” “I’ve got to pay some bills” or (the classic) “I don’t have time to sit still, I’ve got stuff to do.” Follow your breath for two minutes . Take a deep inhale, expanding your belly...  The first thing to clarify: What we’re doing here is aiming for mindfulness, not some process that magically wipes your mind clear of the countl...
